Hello Ted:

The Canadian Pacific Railway must have approved Hampden in the early 1890s around the time my watch was manufactured. But they do not appear on approved Railroad grade watches in the 1900's. For what reason I do not know.

Thanks, Larry! Hampden watches I guess were always considered "brand X' even here in the U.S for whatever reason. But they sure made some great railroad watches....Ted.

Hello Tony:

That's Canadian alright, Montréal Watch Case Company case. You should be able to find out the day of manufacture in the factory, and the day shipped to Montréal.

Hello Tony:

The Montréal Watch Case Company must have been a major supplier of Private-label pocket watches in Canada, many of the Hamilton pocket watches from my collection that are on this thread were made by Hamilton, with jewelers names and provinces. They were brought from Hamilton from the period covering February 3, 1903 to August 31, 1908. The company appears to have gone out of business prior to 1915.

Larry
