Manitou, Manitoba is located in the Pembina Valley, close to the border of North Dakota, and is on the line east of Morden and it is about 105 miles Southwest of Winnipeg, Manitoba. You can see it on the middle of the map above and to the right of the border crossing showing Snowflake on the red CPR line, and Hannah of the black Great Northern line, on the North Dakota side of the border. The lines marked in blue are Canadian National, many of these prairie branch lines have long been abandoned, and the communities have disappeared from the face of the earth.

Hello Tom: Thank you for the additional information on William A. Parker, I will have to check my map to see where Lisgar, Manitoba is. Further research shows that Lisgar is the electoral district that includes Portage la Prairie, Mordee, and Manitou. Larry

Nice watch as always Larry, I would love to see your entire collection in person someday, what with the watches, ribbons, badges, clocks etc. There was a jeweler listed in the 1891 Canadian Census for Picton, Prince Edward, Ontario. James H. Porte, born about 1862. Living with his wife Lillia (1862) & daughter Lenora (1889). They were lodgers of Andrew & Phebe Davison. Also Ehrhardt's Trademark book has the same info you mentioned for the case, P.W. Ellis & Co. LTD 31 Wellington St. E. Toronto Ont. Canada. Tom
