Recently I won a Elgin Grade 71 Model 1 and I am having a hard time locating information on it Complete Price Guide To Pocket Watches. Looking to see if anyone is able to point out where I can locate that info. The watch is a size 6s with 17 jewels, serial number 3006895. Case is 18k multi colored gold with a 1/4 carat diamond on the front cover and a 1/10th carat diamond on the back cover. Thank you for any input you have! Ryan Schoenike ![]()

Well I can see we have two different totals. One source says 5000 and one says 1000. The Elgin resource link on this site says 5000 total. The other source says a total of 1000. I found that the online database says 1000. I don't know the source of the 1000 total listed here but I don't trust the online database as anyone can contribute any info they wish on that site and a lot of bad information is on there. But anyway you know that either 1000 or 5000 total which for Elgin both are low production runs. Harry

Harry - The Grade 71 was produced in four separate runs. The first three runs are Size 8 (Total Production: 4,000) and the last run is Size 6 (Total Production: 1,000).

Thanks Nathan. Man that is weird to have the same grade in to different sizes. But that may be common for Elgin I am not that familiar with Elgin. Beautiful watch! Harry
