Hi All

Any one good with British hallmarks. Just pickup a pocket watch key with a fob attched. On the back are three little boxes. Ancor in the first, Lion (facing left) in the second, & a lower case q. Below that in a rectangle box J.E.F Funny no period after the F.
I think the top three box give me the date 1915.
Will post picture tomorrow.

Thanks for any help with this. The key does fit a key wind Columbus that I have.

Regards
Keith

You are correct it was made in 1915, the lion means sterling silver, the anchor means it was made in Birmingham and the q means 1915

The JEF is the makers mark.

The Front. Could the shield be gold? (solid or plated)

Hi Keith !

A nice Edwardian-style British watch-fob. I think the shield is made from low K gold.
I've found a mark J.E.F (raised in rectangle) from a 1918 Birmingham fob medal without maker known.

Regards
Gerald

Looking to the great 'marketplace'(fob medal) you will find prices meandering from fifteen to fifty.
