Hi

Just aquired this from ebay. Does this case remind you of the #7 Hamilton case. Does this look like a proper combination for a Elgin.

Hi Keith

It looks like it has the cut out for the micro regulator screw on the balance cock, unless someone cut that out later.

I think the case back should be marked cased & timed by Elgin & perhaps made by the Star case co., I think the 571 was the only model that needed that cut out in the case.

Keith,
The dial is Canadian and if the case is Canadian with the 571 cut out it could be original. What say you/////

The case looks Canadian, probably made by the American Watch Case Co. of Toronto, Ontario. I have seen many Hamilton 992B's, late-model Waltham Vanguards, and Elgin 571's cased like this. And this would be the Canadian equivalent to the Hamilton Model No. 7 Railroad case.

Hi

Thanks for the information.

Jerry, I do not have the watch yet and I will post a picture when it arrives.

Larry, I am hoping that it is a Canadian case.

Hi All

The watch arrived today and the inside of the case is.

FORTUNE 10k Gold Filled Case Made In Canada Sturby

The detent devise must be unscrewed because the stem just pulls out. Does any body have a picture to share on how this should look if properly installed?
