I started a thread recently on "Which Wristwatch Did You Wear Today" of course in the Wristwatch forum. It's only fair to ask the same question in our Pocket Watch forum. I would be surprised if this question gets answered as readily as in wristwatch forum. We'll see. ![]() ![]() Today I wore "The Lady & the Bird" pocket watch. You ask what the hey is The Lady & the Bird? ![]() ![]() Which Pocket Watch Did You Wear Today? Stephanie O'Neil NAWCC Member 143979

This week's watch is a triple signed Private Label 16 size Agassiz, 20 jewel hunting LS movement in an original 14 Kt "cut Hunter" case, with two crystals over the dial. The case had to have been made this way because there is a raised lip of gold surrounding the crystal in the outer front cover. I have never seen another case like it and wonder if it was a special order by the jeweler for a specific customer who requested it. This is a VERY well traveled watch. Built in Switzerland, then retailed in Boise, Idaho. I purchased it from a dealer in Christchurch, N.Z., and it now resides in south Georgia. I guess this qualifies as a pocket watch even though it is electric. It is a Bulova Accutron model 2182 with the day/date window, dated 1976. Pretty indestructible and still works great!! This chain and elk's tooth is what I like to use when wearing any of my pocket watches. Phil Dellinger ![]()

Today I carried a 15 jewel Elgin. This is the watch that started the stem sleeve repair thread. Thanks to Chapter 185,the great tutorial, and a bag of old stems and sleeves it winds and sets perfectly. Scott Cerullo cerullo34@aol.com ![]()

It's a Waltham, Model 77, PS Bartlett, 11J, KW/KS. Been partial to this for several months now. Mike Miller

I am a couple of days late. However, the watch that I carried on the 17th was a 12s Colibri, skeleton style pocket watch that my wife, Bonnie, gave me for Christmas almost 10 years ago. It is the watch that I carry most of the time when at work. Mike

What's cool about this pocket watch is the unique basket weave affect of the inner part of double sunk dial as well as the copper color case! Stephanie O'Neil NAWCC Member 143979

Stephanie, Waltham was quite proud of those metal dials, as you can see in the attached notice copied from their 1909 material catalog. The numbers and minute marks are actually etched in and filled with enamel. (I am also quite fond of rose gold cases). ![]()

Hi Jerry T., Very interesting! Thanks so much for posting this invaluable information. I'm now wondering if the center of my metal dial is gold or gilded! Looks like gold to me, or is it wishful thinkin? Very interesting. For those interested, here's a shot of the movement. Stephanie O'Neil NAWCC Member 143979 ![]()
