Mainspring broke. | |||

Let mainspring down - it was roughly half wound | ||||

The only thing I can think of is maybe someone took something and put a lot of pressure on that wheel to try and make the watch run or run faster..screwdriver maybe.. | |||

Replaced the complete wheel/pinion - and running fine. The pinions were not broke There does look to be "scratch" on the wheel itself three (3) teeth up from the break might have been a screwdriver impact like Gary alluded to. Crazy... | ||||

Unmitigated abuse by ice-pick (or screwdriver). Those three breaks are all fractures. | |||

I favor the ball point pen theory. Stick the pen point into the watch to "help the little wheel thing move better". Deacon | |||
