I have a 60 hr Bunn that is in a model one case but marked 29. Could this be a factory error? Would like to hear your opinions. All numbers match so it isnt a a wrong back. ![]()

You pretty well have to go with factory error but hopefully Buster will chime in with his vast knowledge. In the meantime here is a good bit of info on Illinois 1st Model Case History

Thank you. In our Illinois data base we only have 7 of these mis-marked cases entered to date between 1928 and 1929. https://ihc185.infopop.cc/eve/f...1029912/m/8281069912 These are scarce if not rare and require more $$$$ to get one unless you stumble across one that someone is unaware of ![]() regards, bb

If not for the box I would have said in all likely hood this would not have been an original combination. It seems this movement got pushed back in the vault and forgotten as it is from 1927 and ended up in a 1928 case, a late 1928 it appears as well. Very interesting set.

Was received as a Christmas gift in 1928. $65.00 had to be a chunk of money in 1928

Notice that the case number is off one digit? On the case it ends in an 8, and on the box and tag it ends in a 9. Regards, Larry

Your right Larry.Another mystery? Roger
|
looks like that one just has errors following it , I still think that 65.00 in 1929 was really something .

Wonder if the turmoil of hamilton taking over played into it. Or if was just good scotch

Employers didn't have drug and alcohol testing in 1928.
|
That watch was a nice Christmas present -- $65 in 1928 is about $900 today, according to the Department of Labor's inflation calculator.
|
Thanks everyone for your input. Especially you Buster with your input of how many are known to exist.
