A friend brought this watch to me today to "find out" about it. What I know about watches would fit with room left over in this watch. Roll Eyes

The dial states: Lady Elgin, with a little "scrolly thing".

The Case(inside) states: Cased and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co., Schwab & Wuischpard, 14k gold, 222688

The back plate of the movement states:L331743, 19 Jewels, Elgin 619.

Any info would be greatly appreciated....

Greg,

This watch has a 21/0s movement, grade 619, 19J made around 1945. Between 1940 & 1948, there were 635000 of these made.

Greg,

"619" happens to be the grade number of the watch. Higher grade numbers doesn't mean a better watch. I believe Elgin assigned grade numbers from 1 to 999.

What would be the approx. cost to have it cleaned and is anyone up to the task. It's been running for a couple of days.
