Illinois Santa Fe 12 size question "Click" to Login or Register

I am interested in purchasing an Illinois Santa Fe 12 size in the near future (triple signed preferable with a Monty dial). Does anyone have any advice as to what to look for (or look out for)? I have the 2013 “Fat” book to use as a price guide but any tips in this area would be appreciated also.

Thank you,
Michael

Michael,

Santa Fe Specials were Illinois private label watches, originally sold with Santa Fe-marked dial, case and movement and that's what you should buy. Anything else is not correct, regardless of what sellers may tell you.

Here's a prior topic you may find interesting:

The 12-size version was Illinois Grade 274, made 1912-1927 and were adjusted to temperature, isochronism and 3 positions.

Thank you Ed for your comments. Don’t know if anyone else has anything to add but all comments are sure welcome.
