It looks like it could be for setting pallet stones or for fixing a bent guard pin on the pallet for a double roller. ???

I sometimes have hard to understand the english terminology. What is exactly a guard pin. Do you have a picture maybe?

Actually,..when I look at the outer box I recognize the lever with the guard pin being cut.
