Elgin with stuck case "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Hi,
I've got this 18s Elgin, what it is is unknown as I cannot get the case open.
It is in a swingout case, but it does not move when I pull the stem out, I actually pulled the stem right out of the case, and it still did not open up.
Any suggestions,
Thanks,
Bill

screwdriver under the cut to lift it or use some paint thinner/10W40 on cotton stick under the swing out ring .

Peter,
I had been trying the method you advised, and finally I did get it loose, and open, with considerable prying.
Thanks for your help.
Bill

P.S. It is a gr.337, 3Fb, 17 jewel adj, 16s not 18 as I mentioned
