ELGIN CONVERTIBLE QUESTIONS

I have for a long time wanted one of these. Finally got one s/n 1076746=1882,15j,mod.2,grade 86,3 finger movement only,in the hunter mode. Need to get the movement to change to open-face. I did have a o/f case, hinged bezel and back that it fit after I changed the stem to female. It starts right up and is very accurate. Need a hour hand or full set.

Nice watch Roger... Smile I bought one here on IHC several years ago, serial #6336006.(1896)
Excellent running watch, and a good looker.
They tend to be harder to find than you would thought.

Very nice watch, Roger.
Changing to open face is not too hard, and if it needs a cleaning it has to come apart anyway.
Send me your mailing address and I'll send an hour hand to Texas. We have to keep those convertibles running.
My email is in my profile info.

Roger,
Did you see this on eBay? Didn’t know if you had interest or not, just thought I’d pass it on...

Kudos to Dr. Debbie and Lindell for running the best site anywhere. I believe they know the legalities to protect the integrity of all of us.

Ps Mark, I have done it, like dropping a watch you will remember how to avoid Smile

Roger,
I've had that happen myself. If you need another minute hand I'll send one, but don't break the second hand, I'm all out of them.
Let me know.

Is it possible that you pushed the shaft out of the cannon pinion? Were you supporting the center of the setting wheel while pressing on the minute hand?

Just hoping for the best.
