Tom i was wondering if you could find some info .for me on this watch presented too a judge in 1924...Hamilton 14kt 922 watch nice inscribition on the dust cover.

I think Gerald probably has the right guy, in the 1930 census for District 48, Peoria, Peoria, Illinois
Page, George T. born about 1860 in Illinois, he is listed as a Federal Judge. He is living with his wife Jessie S., and servant.

1900 census, same city & spouse, shows he was born September 1859, listed a a lawyer. His sone Gerald also became an attorney.

1880 census Metamora, Woodford, Illinois. He is about 21, single & living with a Samuel Page, Samuel is an Lawyer born about 1851, it doesn't list their relationship but from the age difference I would guess brothers. George is also listed as a Lawyer

California Death Index shows he was born September 22, 1859 in Illinois & died November 4, 1941 in San Diego

In 1891 when he applied for a passport (unfortunately no photo) he was 6'3 1/2, with bluish gray eyes & light brown hair.

It does look like Samuel was an older brother, in 1870 census Metamora, Woodford, Illinois he is living with his father Thadius born about 1814 in NH, mother Cordelia born about 1829 in Mississippi, Samuel born abt 1851 in Il., Laura born about 1853 in Il., Allen born about 1855 in Il., Milo born about 1857 in Il., Emma born about 1864 in Il., Betzey born about 1796 in NH(Georges grandmother) Thasius was a farmer.

He must be born in 1859; there is an obituary in 'The New York Times' november 5th 1941

"George T. Page, 82, Ex-federal Judge; Peoria resident who served on seventh circuit appeals bench at chicago-dies "

As Gerald said he was Judge of the United States Circuit Court at Chicago, a position which he could hold for life. His brother Samuel was Circuit Judge Peoria but he became one of the most successful & brilliant trial lawyers of Chicago according to the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society Vol 14.
