Thanks for the reminder Steve. I have used this in regards to the Vanguards but had never looked further. It appears that the "5 positions"was used off and on until s/n 14,125,301 at this point forward I believe it was a standard marking. My s/n 14,105,374 would have been in the on and off runs. Interesting it is! Roger

Thanks Joseph, yes it is adjusted to 5 positions and is RRG although not RRA and not marked 5 positions. It is a very good runner! Roger

Really nice 845 Roger! Waltham knocked it out of the park when they came out with those '92 models, they are a beautiful movement.I have an 845 open face, mine has the 5 positions marking. Also have a Vanguard,Appleton Tracy, and 19 & 21 jewel Crescent Streets. They all keep railroad time. Thanks for posting it, Ted.

Thanks Ted, the model'92's are fast becoming one of my favorite watches. Beautiful and very well constructed. I have a o/f 845 s/n 16,006,030 that is marked 5 positions as well. Roger

Thanks Joe, Vern said there were about 1,000 845 Hunters made. So I did my own research using Walthams Gray Book Serial List and I came up with 3,499 made or at least the s/n's were blocked for the 845 Hunters. Whether they were all made,or not, I do not know.Mine came from a run of 500 and I believe the third run of 845 Hunters. One database said there were 55,575 845's produced in O/F and Hunter. If that is true then the Hunter grade constituted 15.89% of production.I wonder how many are really out there. Not Many I bet. Roger
