Was there any Ball watches made with the lever set at the 11 [at 56 minutes] position like later walthams have. I know waltham made some later movements with lever set at 11 but all ball walthams I ever seen have lever same as hamilton at 6 [minutes] position.
The various Ball-Waltams are 1908 model Walthams with the lever at approximately 6 minutes past the hour. The only Ball watches with a lever at approximately 56 minutes would be Swiss Made "Ball-Record" 435B and 435C movements made for them by the Record Watch Company after the supply of Ball-Hamilton 999B movements were disappearing.
Your recollection about Ball-Waltham movements is correct.

Ok thanks are they a standard 16s movement then. I sent a friend one of my nice ball cases I had put away and he just called me and said the lever was at 11 and I just found it hard to believe. I remember checking to make sure all my cases were not the restrikes but never remember checking the lever slot. Funny how I happened to pick out the one and only one I had that had lever at 11. I actually asked him what he was smoking. LOL Now I will have to tell him what I found. I dont have any ball record watches in my collection and didnt even think of that. Thanks a million for the info.
The movement is housed without modification in a American Keystone J Boss yellow gold filled Ball Official RR Standard case. So American movements should fit in it quite easily.

As explained in my previous post, any marked as "Ball Model or ORRS" cases with lever cut at approximately 56 minutes was designed and intended for a Swiss Record Watch Company 435B and 435C movement such as Larry showed in his images above. The case on Larry's watch was specifically made for use only with Swiss Record movements as evidenced by the lever-cut. Placing an American movement in a case like Rob described and Larry shows would then entail the cutting of an additional lever-cut harming the value greatly to future collectors.
Let us be clear on this, although an American Made movement could in theory be placed in such a case it is only reasonable that no serious collector of Ball Watches would put any Ball-Hamilton or Ball-Waltham in such a case because they would then end up with a lever-cut on each side which would significantly reduce overall value.

Reason why I asked if it was standard 16s is I thought I remember having a swiss ball at one time that I ended up selling but thought the movement was smaller but it may have been a different creature than the one Larry posted or maybe my memory isnt as good as I thought.
