Just a quick question, what exactly is a thief proof bow? I have heard of them a couple of times but never seen one so how exactly does it work?

I remember this discussion a while back about a 'thob' that would prick the fingers of a pickpocket if he tried to lift your watch.

A 'Thief proof' bow is a swivel bow/pendant.
It prevents snapping off the bow by pickpockets.
(If side pressure is applied the bow rotates on the winding stem axis)
Used on higher quality britisch watches of the late victorian age.
