Looking for some information/help on this dial... The dial was on a 992 that I recently procured. When looking at the 1951 Hamilton parts catalog there is a dial close, but it has one major difference - "Railway Special" under the Hamilton.

Question: What movement would this dial belong too? Also, is this an original or reproduction? THANKS ![]()

Hi Jon, that is a nice original Hamilton Montgomery dial, usually seen on pre-992B RR and street railway grade Hamiltons. The ones marked Railway Special belong on 992B's.It would be correct for a regular 992.Happy Thanksgiving!...Ted.

Ted is right, this example of Dial 581 would be correct on a 992, but the script signature marks it as pre-1918. The example in Richard's excellent chart has the later block letter signature. Best Regards, Ed
