Hamilton 992B "Click" to Login or Register

I purchased this 992b a while ago and was just looking at it. Would this watch ser#C192294 come with a Mdl A case and a 151 Hamilton dial?
I do not know if this question was asked before by myself, but if so I have no recollection of the answer.
Thanks,
Bill

That serial number is from 1947 production. A 992B from that year could have come with a Dial 151 and a Case Model A.

Hello Bill,

I agree with Ed, here is a bit more...

Your movement number C192294 is from the late 1947 to early 1948 time-frame. At that point the Hamilton-Keystone Case A (and the 11 which was also from Keystone and used the same numbering system) would still have shoulders on either side of the pendant, that did not change to "no shoulders" until about the end of 1948 production. This is also when the Hamilton change-over to those dreaded Smile melamine dials began, the 151 being one of their earliest.

A very important piece of information you did not provide is your case number, please do provide it for the record. But with what we have to go on and all the above understood and taken into consideration I would say if you have a high shouldered Case A with K-prefix numbers something like K170000 through 190000 range it would tend to fit fairly well with documented examples we have recorded with movement numbers not far distant from yours.

Let's see if any of that is of help to you.

Lindell

Ed and Lindell,
Thanks for the timely information, I will try and keep this on file this time.
Lindell my case # K305857 marked Hamilton watch co. 10k gold filled, Lancaster.PA.
Although these numbers do not seem to fit with your keystone case numbers ? All else seems to fit. This was a presentation watch to Luther R. Lester in 1950.
Thanks again,
Bill
