I have four lathe collets that are to long for my lathe. One is a Moseley and the rest are specialty collets. They look like they would work if I added a couple of washers onto the drawbar so that it would pull the collets further up into the lathe. I have not tried that as I figure there may be something I am overlooking and I do not want to damage the lathe. Does anyone know if this would work?

it works as long as the keyway slot is long enough and allows the collet to be drawn in without breaking the keyway pin.

Thank you Tom I knew there was something I needed to know before I attempted something like that. Thanks again.
