Thank you Richard once again.I have gone to the Gelson List and I see where Mr. Gelson was an ex president of Hamilton. So he is well qualified to come up with the list. I don't know why the Price Guide would not publish his findings since Mr. Gelson was so qualified. The Price Guide is all over the place compared to The Gelson List. My 974 s/n 2451165 according to The Gelson List is a 1927 and not 1932 as The Price Guide suggest. One thing I noticed about The Gelson List was the lack of years 1932, 1933, and 1934. All the rest of the years were very well represented. On this particular (page 20) years 1926 through 1931 and 1936 through 1941 were very well documented but 1932 through 1934 although documented did not seem to be mention much. I guess it was because the 974P took up so much of the production.

So it looks like The Gelson List wins and I will start putting my Traffic Special together and will show the results when I'm finished.

That is a nice one Roger. I have 2 movements with a metal dial and one dial is almost perfect. The other is in good shape but a long way from perfect. One is gold and one is silver.

They both run so I need to put them together. That should be a lot easier than the 974 Special.

One of these days I need to find out about all the different designs of the 974. So far I think I have come up with six different screw combinations.

That dial looks a lot like my 975 dial I have without the seconds chapter.
