Mark - can you show us the movement? There were several different configurations of this model - jeweled barrel with either a capped escape wheel or capped pallet arbor and an earlier one with standard barrel and both arbors capped. There was also a two-tone version.

Wish I could, but the eldest daughter took off with my digital camera for a college project, and that's the last old Dad saw of it.

It's not a two tone, and dates to 1903. I got it from Samie Smith a year or two ago (time flies when you're having fun). I'm sure old Samie would remember. Heck, it's probably the only watch he's handled in many a month. Yeah....sure....

I have been wearing this watch for the past few days. I didn't know whether to post this here or in "My favorite railroad watches". This 23-jewel lever-set Riverside Maximus came out of a Los Angeles pawnshop about 35 or 40 years ago. It is unknown how many were lever setting, but these seem to be less common than the pendant set variety.

I got it in a nickel case, but shortly afterward recased it in this 14K Solidarity case that I bought from the local railroad watch inspector. He had just taken a Hamilton 950 out of this case so that he could put that in a more practical case for his railroad clientele. The case bears a 1907 presentation inscription that is about the right time frame for this movement.
