Can anyone offer any info on this model/grade. I tried to put it in the Waltham database and it appears that they only made 2 runs of the mdl 1899 645 19j. It appears if I am reading this data right that they did not make any 1908 645 19j. I have not yet got this watch yet, and do not know the serial number as yet, but will offer further info when it arrives. Any info on this model/grade with the 19J mvmt until I get the watch would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Heavy bevelled crystal. It really is an impressive good looking watch, and hard to come by also. Bill ![]()

Ok what is the difference between the 645 and the 19J Riverside I picked a 19j Riverside sn 15,108,xxx that has the same look, same ribbon pattern on the winding wheels, same gold star regulator, same raised gold jewel sets, also marked ajusted and 5 positons around the large winding wheel? I know there is a cheesy Waltham 21j Riverside that has 21 jewels on the winding wheel and does not have a patent regulator which I think is a fairly cheap movement that many people buy on ebay thinking it is a good RR quality movement.

Claude, I think the only real difference between a 19J Riverside and a 19J 645, is that the Riverside also came in pendant-set, and I don't believe the 645 did.I also think a 19J Crescent St. is about the same watch also. They put out zillions of Riversides, but not too many 645's.Most 645's are 21J.I know what you mean about the 21J Riverside, everybody says they are RR grade, they aren't even close to being a railroad watch, only adjusted to temperature.I think a lot of Ebay sellers try to pass them off as RR grade, preying on people who don't know any better. It's crazy how much people will pay for one!......Ted.
