Dennison case adjuster. "Click" to Login or Register

Hi folks. I have a 16 size gold plated English made Dennison pocket watch case which needs a new insert. It's the threaded piece with screwdriver slots that is screwed into the body of the case and holds the winding stem and is adjustable for the crown winder. What is this piece called so I may be able to search for one?.
Thank, Steve from the UK.

Hello Steve,

The part is called a sleeve and the tool to remove it is called a sleeve wrench.

Most questions of this nature would get more "hits" over in our "Watch Repair Forum".

Our own John Duvall has the "stem & sleeve" pretty well covered as well as many other tutorials in our Technical, Shop Talk and Internet Links Forum under John D. Duvals "Helping Hands Tutorials"

Scroll down 10 from the top and you will find "The Stem and Sleeve Assembly". There you will be walked through the procedure[s] for servicing, repairing and replacing the various parts.

regards,
bb
