I made a "revoltin discovery" while restoring a nice model 14 Bunn Special. How could the "motor barrel" be so butchered! Jim Liang sent me a new barrel that required machining the center to refit the old spindle post, and then "outa the blue" came Lindell, SUPERWATCHMAN!!! with a complete set of parts. Let me explain that this Model 14 is the last Bunn Special ( made by Illinois before Hamilton takeover) before the 161 - 2 - 3 series, and this 60 hour motor barrel is SPECIAL TO only this model 14 and all the later numbered ones, and those parts no longer exist!

So thanks to Lindell, and everyone who supports IHC185, another fine watch has been restored to its best possible condition. What a beauty! (btw I do have a "grumble", the Illinois "motor barrel" sure looks like a "going barrel" to me.) This is what it is all about!

Dave - wonderful job you did restoring this beauty with the help of Lindell and Jim! It must be so rewarding and gratifying that you can take something so beat up and turn it into a fine running watch. Congratulations!

What a great example of how this club works! Nice job Dave on restoring this beautiful watch. I have personally experienced Lindell's generosity directly and here is another example! Thanks for sharing! Another happy ending! John III
