Recently purchased an Elgin watch with an Indian Motorcycle logo on the dial. The serial # was for the year 1901 (same year Indian Motorcycles was started). Is there any way to know whether it is original or a later add on?

Pictures please, bezel off... dial front and back if you happen to have it apart.

Gut feel is; after market... question is, period correct or modern.
