All inside a beautiful 16s A.W.C.Co Coin Case (typical for Canadian watches!)

Well Dave,

How about... None-Of-The-Above ? Razz

If it was a Waltham or Elgin it would date to the 1880s and it doesn't look very Illinois to my eye. I could be wrong but my impression of the "Regina" name is of their being a Canadian-Brand on Swiss watches. Then checking "Regina Watches" on eBay brought up some obviously Swiss watches, a music box ad and a sign. And finally our IHC Find-Or-Search for "Regina" provided an Omega connection to their better offerings.

Lindell

Wink

Maybe in the end this Regina Watch Sign is the way to go!

The main plate under the dial has another serial number with a cross. But the Dial is a three foot with US type locking screws.

I found that in Roy Ehrhardt's Trademark Book, on page 36, under "Grade names found on Walthams" is the name Regina. So this is getting a little more interesting huh?

Good tracking Sheila. It is the dial and movement that really throws me off, but the plate cuts are a little different. But then I hadda wife named Regina once too . . . she was Dutch. Seriously, I will give this a thorough cleaning and check all the parts and numbers. More pics., maybe.

Hi,
Let me quote a time when a related question was asked previously:

"The Regina name was used in Canada by the Omega Watch Co. I believe that they carried the same serial numbers as the Omega named watches..."

Thus the swiss cross you see on the movement as well.

Best,
Tom O.

My bet was on the Omega too! especially with the cross present.

Just adding to the mystery, fun to confuse sometimes.

A little heckle helps the blood to flow.

Looking forward to the pictures.

Yup, I just put it in the spin cleaner, and while disassembling it I saw a cal.19 Omega rooted Waltham/Elgin/Omega W&S with the neat self clutching Swiss mainspring and just enough fussing with the plate cuts so that without my glasses I would mistake it for "Made in USA".

Here it is all done; Typical . . . hadda mess with the Balance spring cause the swiss made them out of spaghetti, and it's a double roller where the last guy who took a #3 horseshoe file after the winding wheels also had it about 30 deg. out of beat. Now it's swinging like a champ . . . Whew, a 23 Jewel 18s Mod 92. Waltham is much easier! Roll Eyes

The Dial survived pretty well, must be those long Canadian winters again. The A.W.C.Co Coin case is extraordinary! Great watch for a 7 Jewel, but still needs better finishing to measure up to our "domestic's of the 1902-05 time frame.
