Go down the page to see if you have a watch with one of these Serial Numbers on it. If you do, I have the tin that it came in, from the factory.
I changed this so you can see the SN of the tins I got. Most are Elgins.
The picture of them is in the photo forum.
My 1st Kodak Picture

Old Post:
I have many movement cases that have SN on them with all the information of the watch movement that was sent in it.
eg. Elgin SN 16254272 grade 335, 18s, 17J, Nickel, Hunting, Arabic Dial, Lever Setting.
Where can I post some of these so you can see if you have any of these?
Want to post here first.

Sheila,

I guess this forum would have the most viewers. Great idea!! Wouldn't it be great if someone had a movement SN that matched one of your shipping containers. Eek

Sheila, I think this would be a good place. Probably a list of the serial numbers. How many are we talking about? It is a long shot for someone to have a match, but - go for it!

This is an example of one for a 18size P.S. Bartlett watch, manufactured by the Waltham Watch Co.

I have 141 but not all of them have papers. I will check and let you know. I will list 2 more now and list them all either here or on my journal page in case it's too long.

Elgin, Grade 316, SN15661703 18s, 15J, Nickel, Hunting, Ar. Dial, Lever Setting.
This one and the one above are square cases and have unusual metal objects inside to hold the movement. Not like the teeth type.

South Bend Watch Co. No 110, Ar. Dial, 673562, 0 size, 15J, Hunting. This case also has the case with 2 glass crystals inside of it, with 3 papers, 2 inside and 1 on the top of the case.

I will shorten the posts on these next time.

Let you know when I get them separated.

Some are, no question, like brand new.

Hope some find one that matches.

The paper in this one refers to the case of the watch on both papers.

All tins, but 3 have paper on top and one on bottom of tin.

Start Hunting, and good luck.
