That is an Elgin "Convertible", 13 Jewel, Grade 48, Approx. 16 (Special) size, with case. In running condition it would "book" at around $200.00, Lower sans Mainspring.

I disagree with the "book" believing this is worth well over $200.00 in good restorable cased condition.

Peter, I agree with David in all respects....

This Grade 48 Elgin Convertible is only one of 8000 ever made, you can bet your bippie that is very collectible and a nice additon to any collection....

A new mainspring should be an easy find....

Regards,

Jerry

$5. to $10. Not installed. It is possable that once a new mainspring is installed it still will need serviced to get any type of time keeping ability.
As for as collect ability I disagree. It just looks to be a convertable that would not make it into my Personal collection. But to each his own.

Being 8000 made it does have some collectability. Just not mine. If the case is mint then maybe.
