I got this because I like box hinge cases. Here is what I have discovered about it so far. Perhaps someone can add a bit more. Watch is a Rockford series 1 number 16000. The book says it was made in 1876. It has 9 jewels and is so marked. It is also marked with the word "extra". Extra what? It is kw/ks and appears to be running ok. I suspect something not right around the key stem but not sure. Does anyone have a similar movement to compare. The normal collar with the screws in the flange would not fit as it would obscure the printing. I think the case is Swiss. I suspect bronze or brass. I think the case may be later as it is pretending to be a stem wind. The stem does nothing. Could this be another of those bargin conversions from old fashioned hunter to open face? The case is actually very crude with no provision for case springs or catch. The lids snap closed like a dust cover and are very hard to open. There is not even any provision of a lip to get your nail under. Does this mean cheap or old and primitive? Anyone know how old this case might be? Just like to find out more about the watch. TIA

Stephan, From the trademark, your case looks like it is a Swiss made brass case. The actual finish in your pix looks like brass to me. Regardless, it is a nice box hinge case.
Also, my experience has shown that the shrouds used on the key arbors are all pretty close in diameter from company to company. I have successfully used a shroud from an Elgin on a Waltham and it fit perfectly. You can probably use a shroud from another company on your Rockford and it just might fit very well.
