Would someone have the production number of the large pillar plate 16 size watches made by Hamilton and also the number of the Grade 973 Hunter movements produced with large pillar plates? Also what serial number runs these were produced in and the year they changed the Grade 973 to the normal pillar plate size? Thank You to All.

Found a link to another discussion on this message board which has answered my questions, thanks.

It may have been a discussion I had brought up in the past Bila. I have a large pillar plate version of the 972, 974, 975, 976, and 977 but I don't remember if I have a 973 or not.

It was Harry, a couple of links actually, Robert actual does discuss the approximate production figures in the thread. The only thing I have not found out is the serial number that they changed the Grade 973 at.

Sorry I can't help Bila. Until I found out how many large pillar plate Hamilton's were made I thought the Price Guide was accurate but found out it was not even close.

I agree about the price guide Harry, a country mile out, the run numbers they quote for the large pillar plate do not make sense at all.

Bila & Harry According to the research that I did the last large PP 973 sn was 61600 finished at the end of April 1899. The next sn 973 was 63901 finished in August 1900 which was after Hamilton's switch to the "Elgin model" standard 16 size cases early in 1900. Bob
