In checking further on my Waltham watchmaker in San Francisco, on-line, I found an old ad in the "Western Journal of Education" (go figure?!) from March of 1922. In it is the following... " OUR SPECIALITY, WALTHAM WATCHES, J. Q. Hatch & Co., Watchmakers & Jewelers, 210 Phelan Bldg, Arcade Floor, San Francisco, California, Official Watch Inspectors for the United Railroads." I'm know trying to find out who or what the United Railroads were. As I said in my first post my great grandfather was a conductor for the San Francisco Municipal Railway back in 1900's... dunno if they are related, but his retirement watch was from Hatch & Co. | |||
