Jon they are beautiful and I have tried to pick up a Maximus either hunter or open with no luck, always get outbid. In the day the Maximus and the Elgin 162/156 were about the same price (movement only) of about 100-115 dollars depending on the sales catalog. I now have both of the Elgins, now I need to pick up the Walthams.

I enjoy looking at and collecting the great variety of specially marked Waltham Railroad movements. Here are three gorgeous Canadian Railway Time Service models:

Ed; I want that 1892 Waltham Standard 19J with the locomotive on it. One of 50 I believe. If I ever get another chance I'll just have to dig a little deeper.

Nice 1892 CRTS by the way. I much prefer the 1892s over the 1883 models.

Sounds like a cool watch Tom, I've never seen one of those.

The Model 1892 is my favorite Waltham, I also have it in a 17-jewel Canadian Pacific model an 23-jewel up/down wind indicator.

Best Regards,

Ed

Claude,

The maximus really has some beautiful artwork within its demaskeening. Plus, the extras on the jewel caps are a nice touch. Always a fan of the full plate 18s; however, there is no comparison here

Ed;

Here's a pic of the Standard. Only Waltham made with a locomotive on the movement. What do you think?

That's a fairly early M1892 movement, with RUBY JEWELS and the second movement number location. The loco has kind of a Swiss fakey look to it, but it's still a cool watch! Smile

Best Regards,

Ed
