I just got this 999B that is supposed to be MINT.
I hope i can get the pictures right. The bezel and bow and back cover are a rose color while the case frame and crown are a yellow color.
The bow also looks liks it was made with a DIE. I'm not a ball man, so I don't know, is that the way they make the bow?
There are no numbers on the case frame at all, just the back cover.

The bow, I don't know if you can see the difference in the color.

Another try at the color.
If you look at the crown and the bow you might see the difference.

The inside of the back cover seems to be more of the yellow color.

Wow, that one is 8619198 and mine is 8619245, only 47 numbers apart. Or I should say only 47 FAKE numbers apart. Frown

Thank you Rob.

Larry

I know Larry and we talked about his Ball Watch. At near 63 1/2 I decided I needed some Balls. He He.. The first one is not marked with the Ball Watch Name in the inside of the case.

Instead the Star Case Co is named but the watch has the common crescent on the back just like the Ball marked case does. And it says 10K and the numbers are in a perfect V. On the second Ball Watch it is signed Ball inside same crescent on the Back and V numbering.
Sorry I don't have pictures yet of them. Take Care...

Welcome to IHC185 Bill. I concur with Larry and Rob that this is a restrike case, most likely with a cast replacement bow as well.

Best Regards,

Ed

Well here are my pair of Ball Watches. Both keep great time and run for a full day with ease. The simple bail loop is an older mechanism. Case is a Star Case with the standard Ball Crescent on the back cover.

The second watch is a Hamilton model 999B with a marked Ball Watch Case. Same Crescent on rear. Both have the correct 10K gold filled and v pattern numbering. The Hamilton 999B
does not wind smoothly though. And setting the time is also not smooth. Something is not right with the stem shaft. Although back ratcheting is smooth.

I still like both pieces and do not plan to expand any more in the Ball Watch direction.
