I was given a pocket watch movement today that was going to be thrown away since the 14k case had been scrapped. The serial number is 3967793. The pocket watch database identifies it as being grade 67, model 1., 6 size with 15 jewels., hunting configuration and lever set. The watch I was given has the crown at the 12 o'clock position and the lever at the 2 o'clock position. According to the examples I saw on line, the crown was shown to be at the 3 o'clock position and the lever was between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions. Was this model and grade made both ways? John W. John, Does the dial look like this, with no seconds bit? If so, it is a hunter movement with a dial made with no seconds bit to use in an open face case. (This one is for a hunter case, but they made both dials, hunter and open face, with no seconds bit.) Clear as mud, right?? ![]() Steve ![]()

Steve, Thanks for your response. The explanation was clear. I just hadn't seen any examples like mine. The dial is like the picture you supplied. Thanks again. It is too bad that movements are being thrown away. The guy did say he would have others for me once he removes them from their gold cases. John

John, you might suggest to the guy that people will pay very well for the less worn gold cased watches.
