How do you date a hamilton case? "Click" to Login or Register

I have been reading a lot of the discussions on Hamiltons and I acquired a real pristine 1945 model 992b and it looks all original but it seems the IHC185 has a idea of when each model was made. I think it would be great if some photos of each model and approximate year of production would be of great help to all members of our club. I haven't seen on quite like mine and if needed I can post a photo or two of it. Thank you, Bill Vaughan

There you go: Hamilton 992B Factory Cases

Pictures are always helpful and I believe to be worth approximately 1000 words. Smile

A search for Hamilton Factory Cases gives you plenty of reading.

Since Missouri is the "Show-Me" state, "show me" the case ! Then we will know what you have, perhaps, maybe, perchance, ['er sometimes]....

Another good place for your 992B movements information starting point would be to consult and study the several research topics listed in public view around the top of the Hamilton Research Forum:

GO TO: Hamilton and 992B Research Forum

Scroll through these which contain both Wadsworth and Keystone J.Boss Databases. Use them in conjunction with the "Complete Guide to Watches" Information which is readily available to all IHC Members! If you cannot find yours ask a question including your movement and case number.

And as Lindell says... Be sure to read and study all the available material!

I have a hard time finding my way around the forum and really appreciate the help. Mine is exactly like the No.11 that Lindel posted a picture of. Mine still has a kind of wire brush finish on the back and no wear that I can see. The watch is almost mint through out. If you really want a "show me", here are some pictures.
Great help from all. Bill

The Dial and hands are all original and perfect condition. I believe that the crystal may be original also and without any blemish. Bill

I cleaned, serviced and timed the movement and the screws showed no evidence of ever being turned.

The case dates it to 1945 as does the movement. No dents, dings, deep scratches or mars anywhere.
