Does anyone Know which company,s were the frist to start using the white hairsprings..here is 2 swiss made watches from my parts cabinet both have white hairsprings ,,both have us pat,s. from 1904 ,,that don,t mean these were made in 1904 but look to be early movement,s.. i always thought the American watch company,s were the frist to use white nomagnetic hairsprings am i wrong. | ||

The first white hairsprings were palladium. I think they were found first on Peoria and then on Illinois watches in the U.S. They were likely on Swiss watches a year earlier and English watches about the same time. | ||||
