C.W.Co. K/W pocket watch "Click" to Login or Register
posted
I have just purchased this watch, hopefully for not to much more than I should have, but lately I have taken a liking to k/w watches.
I am trying to find out about this, don't know whether it is a California watch co., a Cheshire
watch co., a Chigago watch co.,a Columbia W. Co., or a Cornell W. Co., or any of the above. The movement is marked "Quaker City" unknow jeweling, Pat May 11/1875. I don't know how to get an e-bay link but item# 120364307781 if interested.
Anyone come up with a manufacturer, and other info, would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

According to Megger's book, a Quaker City patented May 11th, 1875 is Swiss.

Thanks Tom,
It kinda looked like an old Illinois movement, but I again looked in my old Meggars and found it also.
