Very nice Jon! I love that style of dial. Now, if only it weren't housed in that case. Brad

LoL - Brad...

That is how I acquired it, and was not going to turn it down because of a case. PL 930s are not jumping out of the wood work... Big Grin

Ed,

Just curious does your Central City have the same style dial or does yours have a double sunk?

Thanks

Yet to see that specific private label on a double sunk dial. I wonder if there is one out there hiding Cool

The jeweler that sold both of those Central City private labels was Henry J. Howe a jeweler in Syracuse. He was born about 1840 in New York. He is listed as a jeweler there in 1866 and I find him there up to 1910. If you are interested.

I have a very nice Hamilton 978, Henry J. Howe. He was one of only 6 agents for Hamilton watches in New York state.
Thanks for the info Roger and Tom.

"The 1860 US census lists Henry J. Howe as a 20 year old jeweler. He is listed in the 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900 and 1910 census. Most of the census list him living on East Jefferson street Syracuse with a wife and two sons."

"Henry J. Howe enlisted on Aug. 24, 1861 at Vesper, N.Y., mustered in as a private, Oneida Independent company, Cavalry in September of 1861. He served three years and mustered out in September of 1864."

Tom and Roger - thanks...
