Can anyone tell me about the decoration on this movement. Would you call it 2 tone.

I don't think so, Steve. I think this is just the simple straight-line damaskeening pattern that was used on the low to mid grade model 83s in this timeframe. The appearance of color is probably just due to a combination of bad photography and reflection. I think I have one of these at home and will post a photo tonight if I do.

Thanks Dave, I wonder what the seller ment by "Silver Rope Pattern" The case is plain so it can't be that. Must have liked the pattern on the movement.

Stephan, I have one of those in the same SN range that I got last year at a yard sale for $5. All it needed was a good cleaning. As was said above, a nice pattern on the back, but a low grade Waltham.
