Hey everybody! Now, I know that this is probably a real dumb question, but since I'm kinda new to all of this, and I'm not really well versed in Elginatomy, why do some Elgin dials have a star on them? Does it have something to do with the war? Regards, Brad

The star was part of the "Elgin, timed by the stars" advertising campaign which I believe started around 1925. regards, bb

Elgin came out with the DuraPower mainspring in 1949 or 1950, I believe....Supposed to be unbreakable and anti-magnetic.... Here is one of their adds of 1950.... Regards, Jerry ![]()
