Could anyone tell me if open face and hunting dials interchange on 18S Hamiltons, or is the foot pattern different? Thanks! Ted.

How about 16-size Hamilton dials?

The 16s is a little different. First you have the 4 foot dials , which had feet at 7.6-21.8-38.0-50.5 All the other 16s are listed as having 22.3-38.0-57.1 Tom

That is correct. ![]() All the three-foot 18-size Hamilton dials interchange between Hunter and Open-Face movements. Likewise all the three-foot 16-size Hamilton dials interchange without problem in the very same manner. The mystery to my mind has always been why Hamilton used those four-foot dials on their early 16-size movements up to around the 872000 numbers area. It seems so unnecessary and flies in the face of all logic to me as three foot dials were the entire American watch industry standard and had been for quite a few years. ![]()
