Please give me the Good, Bad, and the Ugly on this watch. If you would like. I'm guessing the dial, hands and case is correct for this watch

The case is not marked Sangamo Special. But I believe it is original. And comments.

I guess I'll have to clean this on up even though it does keep time.

Gene your watch looks correct to me. I have had that case not marked Sangamo on 2 Sangamo 23j Specials and it is the same as the marked case. The hands are Illinois and maybe replaced the Sangamo Kite hands but who knows? Nice watch. Want to trade for my Hampden 25 jewel Special Railway?

Gene-

I would agree with Deacon on this. While more desirable with the samgamo special marked case, I have also seen them in unmarked pyramid bow cases. The second hand looks to be incorrect, but the other hands could be either way. As much as everybody wants the diamond hands on the sangamo specials, most of the pyramid bow cased sangamos I've seen have had the hands the same as yours. Keep your eye open for the diamond hands though. They really make the watch stand out with them on!

Thanks,

Jared

I think all but the second hand is correct on this watch. I think it should have a dart second hand on it. This is a 16 size Model 10 and an early example from the second run in 1917.
