...have just acquired this 18S Waltham 15J pw and wonder if this 'damaskeened' back plate was indeed 'gold flashed' as I suspect?...the screws, including the case screws, all appear to be gold or filled...

Be careful if you decide to put a little extra shine on those screws. I've heard them refered to as "gold washed". Get to frisky with the cleaning and polishing and that gold will wash right off. I know first hand...won't make that mistake again.
Nice piece you have. Waltham was made some fancy stuff long ago.

...thanks fellas!!!...and Ralph, I'll be careful w/the screws and back plate for that matter...I treated them as I have all the tu-tone movements I've come across in the past and carefully hand-washed 'em...this one I'd like to put in a display case but hate to separate it from it's apparent original coin silver one...btw: good to see your post!...you'll have to treat us here to more of your latest restoration projects!...Regards!...Jim
