Just received this watch 18s.19jewels officalRR standard s/n 669221.Do not know the date of the manufacturing of this.The dial doesn't look right to me since it doesn't have the ball beside the numbers.Would like your input on this.Regards Roger

The Gelson list says movement #669221 was finished in 1911. It's got a later dial on it, with CPR style numerals, from the 1920's.

No. I don't think so. The Goldthwait's Patent regulator used on 18S Hamiltons is totally different than the 18S Ball-Hamilton regulator (see comparison photo).

Here's my 999 19 jewel from 1906 with what I assume is the original dial. I thought it was interesting (unfortunate) that it has also has a chip next to the 8. I was lucky to be able to find a really nice replacement dial but not so lucky with what I had to pay for it.
Mine has a broken balance staff - is that the same one used on the 944? Bob

I would bet there is a dial post under the damage on both dials, you see that often from people not unscrewing the dial screws enough and/or prying the dial off.

You are right Tom. There is a dial foot right under the chip and a little of the porcelain on the back is broken off around that foot.
