Hi

Just picked up this B W Raymond, 12size, jewelled barrel, grade 193, model 3, serial #17792182. Any help on the missing screw?

Keith, these small screws can be a real bother, they are about the same thread as many jewel mounting screws, so if the threads are good in the screw hole, you might try some Jewel mounting screws from any Illinois 16s or 12s watch. The 2 wheel mounting screws you have look slightly bigger than the balance jewel screws on that watch so they could accept 16 size instead.

After all that babble, maybe Brian or Bryan can be of help.

Thanks David the 16size jewel mounting screw worked. Looks great now that it is complete. Just one more question which I know has been asked before. An I.W.C.Co. Supreme marking on the case makes it a gold filled case?
Thanks again for the helpful hint.

Without seeing the case markings I can't be 100% sure but unless it just says 14kt it is probably Gold Filled.

Keith, the IWC supreme is heavy gold-filled a case equal to the very high quality of that watch. You have a real beauty of a collectible with all the finishing it has.

I have the 12 size BW Raymond in both open face and Hunter. Aprroximately 10,000 grade 189 ( hunter) and 10,000 grade 193 (open face) were produced. If my memory serves me correctly your watch is in the last production run. How many were produced as BW Raymonds is anyones guess.

Elgin was still producing some high quality watches. Even at this time most of Elgins watches were 17 jewels or less.
