Some of you know of my interest in the Illinois size 12 extra thin Model 3 525/527 watches.
The latest addition to my collection has arrived today. After waiting out a very long 7 day auction on Ebay,
I managed to get it for $35.65. I’ll leave you to judge if I got a bargain.
The movement, front bezel and the back of the case are made of aluminium (plain back), the band, bow and crown look to be white gold filled; the watch weights 27kgs and a Marquis 525 from the second run is 48kgs.
Only 50 of the aluminium watches were made 3,869,251 to 3869300 in 1921 this one’s 3869282 and running well.
