My wife gave me a Burlington watch a few years back and we would like to find out any information about it. The outside of the case measures 1 15/16" and from what I can gather it was manufactured in 1915/16. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Rob

I will try and help.... Burlington Watch Co. in Chicago was a mail order company that had their movements made by Illinois Watch Co. The movements were put in a Burlington marked case and Burlington marked dial made of enamel/porcelain at the Burlington factory and marketed. The Burlington watch Co. was in business from 1907-1930. Your watch is a popular 16sz watch and is lever~set, open face, a model 9, and a grade "106" from 1916. It is adjusted to temperature, 5 positions and isochronism. It has raised screw down jewel settings and the spokes on the train wheels are rounded. It is a "false center bridge" model. The plates are damaskeened nickel with black lettering. The watch originally came in a marked Burlington watch Co. case and with a double sunk dial of enamel/porcelain OR a metal dial that would of been signed "Burlington". There were a total of 24,400 of the very same watch made and sold. These were all marked Burlington Watch Co. which we know today is a "private label" watch. These are nice watches and generally perform very well. The dials if enamel/porcelain generally today will show a lot of hairlines, chips, and cracks as they were fairly thin and time has caught up with them. Hope that will help you with your watch questions. regards, bb
