Thought I'd share a couple pics of this B W Raymond, grade 540. Is this the correct case.

Dial with bezel removed. Thoughts and opinions?

Looks correct, dial, hands, case etc. This is a nice grade.

I forgot to add is that the streamline case is the most common but Elgin had 6-10 styles that were availble during this time frame. The Streamline was not very ornate, the one you have I do not think was very ornate but Elgin did offer some that had much more detail to them. I have a 540 that has the dual zone hands on it in a 14K case, it is one of my favored grades.

Thanks Claude, case is very plain, not overly worn, a couple small dimples. An honest example of someone's work watch. Gary

Claude, very nice, like the dual time zone hands, don't have one of those. Gary

Those are my one and only "dual time zone" hands. My 540 was originally in some other case and this case had a grade 350 mounted in it, the dial too. So the 350 was all wrong, dial and case way later, so I took the two and made them more correct. The 494 was prior to the 540 but these two grades are the last 23j other than the imported Burens that Elgin produced and the only two BWR marked 23j grades that I can think of in the 16/18s.
