I HAVE A 23J HAMILTON 920 WITH A METAL DIAL THAT I HAVE TO FIND A CASE FOR. I'D LIKE TO PUT IT IN A SWING OUT CASE BUT AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS CORRECT FOR THIS MODEL. SHOULD IT MORE LIKELY BE IN AN OCTOGON OR FANCY SHAPED CASE?

Hi Christopher, My first impression is your choice of cases sounds right. The movement number would help narrow it down. You can find the correct year of production and other information here... Chapter 185 Hamilton Material Archives and Serial Numbers by Grade Lindell

Hi Lindell, The movement number is 1921896, which puts it at 1923. Thanks for your help. Chris

Christopher I think by 1923 that swing out cases were less common than the typical Hamilton open face case with a dust cover. Most 920s were in plain cases however styles such as Newton,Lancaster,Bryon and Florin were also offered. Please note that all 12 size hamiltons were originally factory cased . Bob
